Indications
In our clinic, autologous pluripotent and multipotent stem cell therapy is a medically supervised homologous procedure. This means that only the patient’s own adipose tissue is used, and the harvested cells are reintroduced into adipose tissue within the same body – essentially a fat-to-fat transplantation. The therapy is applied specifically to periarticular fat compartments. This approach is designed to support the body’s natural regenerative processes in tissues impaired by wear or inflammation.
Autologous stem cell therapy can be applied in our clinic in the following areas:
1. Degenerative joint diseases
Examples:
- Osteoarthritic changes in large and small joints
- Wear-related joint discomfort, e.g., in the knee, hip, feet or shoulder
- Pain at tendon insertions or in surrounding soft tissues
The injection is administered into the periarticular fat compartment, such as the Hoffa fat pad in the knee or the subacromial fat pad in the shoulder. This allows precise targeting of the tissue functionally connected to the affected structures.
2. Degenerative spinal disorders
Examples:
- Chronic back pain in the lumbar or cervical spine
- Wear-related changes in the vertebral joints
- Functional impairment due to muscular or connective tissue overload
Here, the therapy is applied exclusively into the paravertebral fat compartments of the spinal joints (e.g., facet joints). The aim is to stabilise and provide functional support to the surrounding tissues.
3. Inflammatory–rheumatic or autoimmune processes
Examples:
- Chronic inflammatory conditions of the joints or spine
- Autoimmune reactions leading to local inflammation in soft tissues
Where a medical indication is established, the therapy is likewise administered into the periarticular fat compartments to support natural regulation of the tissue environment.
A systemic application or injection into other organs is not permitted.
